    Whats involved in swapping tailshaft on 4r70w?

    The converter in my 4R failed again, picked up a 4R from a wrecked 03 mustang v6 car, but realized when I got it home that there is no gear on the tailshaft. Previous trans was from a 98 Mustang v6. Do all of the internals have to come out for the swap?

    Found this thread in a search, link to pic was dead, and it wouldn't let me reply....

    yes...the trans must come completely apart to swap the shaft.
