Hey guys im using my dad screen name right now lol and I have a few questions. I bought a 90 5.0 LX auto in december for a driver (I cant drive a stick everyday cause of my busted ankle so my 85 GT was out) and it has no OD. Its not bad as we dont take it out on the highway but i'd like to get another tranny (right now I cant afford to build one). My dad said that the AODEs are better and said that theres a way to work with the electronic part and I was wondering what you guys know of this. Again I would do a rebuild with a shift kit and stuff but I dont have the money for that (trying to get my convertible running).
Thanks
John

The AODE is electronic so it would require you to purchase a stand alone controler to make it work.
Your best bet is to replace the AOD with a known good unit or have it built...sorry.
