Running stock E7's w/ e303 cam & TrickFlow heat upper & lower
I got a brand new ford e303 cam for free and am wondering if it will work with my stock E7TE heads..I have full exhaust, tb w/spacer, intake upper/lower, gears, pulleys, etc.. What all else will i need like new timing chain or what? If I get it tuned, what kind of power gains can i expect with the new cam running stock heads? Will a valvebody recalibration kit strengthen my AOD enough for a mild cam?

I think the kit will do fine, heads are where the power is.

I was looking at a close combo to that and from couple camshaft companies the E-303 cam is best suited for high compression bigger valves and large headers to perform the best. yes you will gain over stock but its not the right match...they all told me the Trickflow stage 1 cam is best for a stocker setup...
you could sell that cam easy and get one thats better for your combo..

just ask a few places that does custom cams

TFS 1 is a great cam for mild combo...E303 is gay cam for NA stock - sounds great though

i have a e303, gt40, and gt40s. i like the cam although there are better ones out there.
The heads are where the power is. I had a b303 with e7s and I dont think it helped any over the stock cam.
I changed the heads, cam, and converter at the same time and picked up a full second in the 1/8th

The stock cam is a actually a very good cam. On a very limited budget do GT40 heads get a 3 angle valve job, better springs/retainers/locks and seals. Explorer intake, throttle body from explorer, Retard HO cam by 2-4* degrees. That is all recommend on doing a GT40 head. They will not flow what a AR 165 head does and thats about the smallest port aftermarket head!

That is complete crap. That company should stick that E-303 in their ass.
