I was wanting to get a replacement K&N or an Air Hog or something for the Subie, but I've heard they're not a good idea with a turbo. Any opinions?

I dont see why not. I guess if you over oil it, it will get on the blades and crap like it coats MAF sensors. A friend of mine uses one on his turbo vette w/ 86mm turbo.

I've never heard that before. I think every turbo car I know has a K&N on it.

By the way those subaru wagons looks sick someone at my school just got one its already lowered with 18's and exhuast looks real good for a wagon.

the reason i ask is because i've heard people talk about their turbos actually pulling the cotton gauze out of the mesh and destroying their turbos. i imagine their also running huge turbos and a really short inlet, but i figured i'd ask.

Have you checked the Subi boards and see what eveyone is running there????

I don't really see a problem with running a K&N. Look at all the big blowers running a K&N (Brian Mitchell - NMRA Renegade class - Novi 2k pushing 28 lbs of boost)
