I know this question is asked alot, but this one i am really curious about
Here are the stats
302
9.1
comp cam 276xe 513 513 230 @50
69 351 windser heads 194 160 valves (they have been ported quite a bit also)
good igntion system mallory disbritor
ford racing wires
flow tech 1 5/8 long tube headers with a 2 1/2 flow master exhaust system
i am only 16 so i cant really afford the dyno timefor a little while but the car is fast to me it will roast the tires in 1 2 and 3 on the aod trans.
it has a dirty dog converter also its about a 2200 stall

Dyno Tq and HP don't mean anything. If you want to know what the vehicle is capable of take it to the track. I would think a better set of heads and an intake should wake that thing right up. What gears are you running?

that motor should be putting down a healthy amount of power. 69 351W heads are actually pretty good heads. they definatly rank pretty high among stock production heads.
what kind of intake/carb do you have up top? just curious
motor like that really shouldnt be much of any disapointment for a 16 year old boy's street car lol

it has a eldeldbrok (sp) rpm airgap intake and a holley 650 double pumper carb
i will take it to the track really soon also and posting some some times
The car has 3.55 gears they work really good.
I would put 4.10s in it but it sure is nice driving to school at 2200 at 75
yeah thats a good combo, those are good heads when ported correctly
im kind of surprised you dont need a looser stall convertor, that cam is pretty healthy for 2200 stall. i would go to 3k-3500 convertor before i swapped gears. 3.55's are good for nitrous use also

yea the converter mabe a little small but since it is a street car it must be a lock up and stay under 3500 for now i hope i can break into the 12s with it
how much does the car weigh?
you have the power but i dont know if you can get it to 60' hard enough. w/1.75 60' or better it'll go high 12's

the car prolly weighs about 2850
it'll trap near 110 but i really dont think you can 60' hard enough for 12's with that convertor you'll most likly be looking at 2.0 60' and like 13.1/13.2's at good trap speeds
you dont need gears, first thing i would get is loose stall, then id look into getting the compression up and adding spray. do these things alng with some tire and alot of practice and it'll go low low 12's and high 10's on the bottle

yeah it needs more compression and i am gonna add the spray and a looser converter evently to it

Why does it even matter how much power it makes? Take it to the track and get the numbers that REALLY matter. Don't get caught up in this internet chest puffing match called "dyno numbers" the 03/04 CObra guys and Supra guys will beat you every time. Just get some solid times on the car and throw that in their face.
Whaty's REALLY fun is when you go out and lay dopwn some solid times with about half of the HP they claim to have. Throw that in their face and they will order more Extenze that night!

ya, i hate those ricers that go around making things a numbers match, like peak HP would ever be the deciding factor in a race anyway

The sad part it's not the ricers anymore. Try hanging out with a bunch of guys that own 03/04 Cobras, 2nd Gen Lightnings, or any LSx car. They can only speak in dyno numbers. Then they take that dyno HP number and plug it in to an imaginary Fox body stang and say their car runs that.
"Oh man, my CobrAh makes 612rwhp and runs 9.80's!" More like his Slobra makes 612rwhp and runs mid 12's.

lol i agree with u guys completly im not gonna b one of those guys that brags about his car but never runs it at the track and when he does evently run it its not half of what they say it is hp wise. I will b going to the track very soon to get some solid times

thorne 67 is my son and I want to thank everyone for helping him and me over the past several months. We finally got this thing running right and the new AOD working flawlessly. He has a nice combo and should make a fun car. We both race in a Texas Muscle Car Challenge and are looking forward to getting his and my car to the track. I also thought I would post a few pictures of his car so you could see what he has been working so hard on. It's not perfect but has came along way from the 6 cylinder, drum brake car in once was. It now has a nice healthy roller 302, 8.8 Explorer rear end 4 wheel disc brakes, new 93 Mustang seats with matching interior, the AOD transmission with 4r70W internals, nice stereo, wheels and tires, DAZE Cars home made sub fram connectors, new fuel system, and a Sanden 134 AC system that was installed on the 6 and will soon be on the V8.:-D

Dude that's sweet. My first car was a 1970 Dodge Polara with a 440 & toruqeflight automatic. Big HUGE tanker that would fit a dozen of my friends. It'd lay a one wheel peel all the way across town... LOL
You got a cool dad too, so never forget that! Too many dads today are into recycling bottle and the closest they get to working on a car is going to Jiffy Lube.
