with a higher stall converter when driving normal on the street...
say you press the gas do the rpms jump to say 3500 (with a 3500 converter) then the car starts moving? or can you keep the rpms under 2k and still move decently??
confusion...

From PI's site:
"DOES STALL SPEED AFFECT NORMAL STREET DRIVING?
Normal driving is not affected by stall speeds up to approximately 3000 RPM, particularly with a good converter. A car will begin to roll normally when a higher stall speed converter is used. Quick acceleration will be favorably influenced by stall speed. A very high stall speed (above 3000 RPM) would not be satisfactory for street use. "

Thanks, il probably just call a converter place (this is where recomendations are welcomed  )
i'l probably do a converter and valve body come spring time and will be in contact with lentech before i do anything
might see how much it would cost to do a hardened input shaft and upgraded clutches... just get a solid foundation for the power i plan to make down the road...

get an edge converter
http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/
contact andre there he will recommend the converter best for your needs/plans. There is also a form you can fill out on the site and he will e-mail the recommendation to you.
How much power do you plan on making? The common AOD upgrades are hardened lockup shaft, A+ OD servo, a shift kit or valve body, you can also switch out the Direct Drive drum to one from an AOD out of an F150 or one out of an AODE, The stock drum only has splines about halfway up the tube where the lockup shaft connects and under alot of power they can and have been sheered off. The AODE drum is a lighter than the stock drum which equates to less rotating mass.
The standard clutches are good for ~450hp. If thats not enough you can just run Red Eagle clutchs and Konene steels, I think they are good till ~750.
It will should be cheaper to build up the AOD yourself instead of buying a lentch. Im currently pieceing togeather mine and my calculated totals are coming in right about ~1500 with all the parts and labor included. Which is still alot less than the lentech and includes the converter.
