wastegate opens car slows down

i have a turbocharged car
oddly the car is making boost but once the wastegate actually opens the car just completely dies like i snap the throttlr closed? but the car stays on?

any ideas

what are your gauges reading when this happens? what is the wideband reading? what are you using to tune?

I have never owned a turbo car however, I would say that in by opening the waste gates you are losing the exhaust pressure that spins the turbo. Just a thought, I am no expert on this stuff. If you have a boost guage what does it read when this happens? Could be a givaway.

what pound spring do you have in your wastegate? sounds pretty light. your exhaust pressure is dumping to soon sounds like! check your vac lines. are they connected correctly in there rightful places? what psi does your gauge read when this happens? and.... are you running any type of boost controller?

are you sure its the waste gate opening or you have a maladjusted blow off valve?

yea I'm curious also.... whats your set up? you could have a blown off pipe or a blow off valve that is letting boosy out.

this sounds like a idea. Weird tho you are gaining full boost. So thats a hit or mis. Like stated above check the BOV too. Check vacuum lines from the w/g and BOV and see what you find. Also check for cracks/leaks in those lines.
