hey everyone got a quick quetion here. ive never used any aftermarket castings before, and i have narrowed my decision. i either want ported victor jr. or afr 205-215.
i have a 85 gt (picks up in the newbie section) yes its a 85. it is completely stripped except a for carpet and some interior plastics, hav 2 hav that for looks (dash is empty i made my own brackets and just installed the shell) engine- d&d block, victor jr intake, solid roller , demon 750, im talking serious motor here and i will be getting a fogger kit also
im just wondering if there is any ups and downs about either head that i might not of heard. i have seen many flow sheets for these heads and they are pretty close for the money. i am looking for a head that will flow 320ish. i dont want to fork out the cash for a race piece like brodix neal bf
anyone whos used any ported heads please post up
thanks, mike

I am also looking for AFR's. I have been told they are one of the best flowing heads on the market. My race shope uses them on drag cars so they must flow damn well.

if your gonna get heads that flow over 300 like that u might as well throw that 750 in the shitpile.

a demon 750 is what i see in almost every 5liter buildup. MM&FF did a carburated buildup a forget what month. all kinds of motors 600h.p no power adder. they used a 750 speed demon. if u get too big of a carb the excess gas will "wash" the oil off the cylinder walls. then ur block is @#!$ed. besides they said they had the highest power gains with a 750

well if thats what the "magazines" say they MUST be right....
good luck with your build.

YOu might want to call Barry Grant and tell them your combo before settling on a carb. They would be able to give you the correct information. You can only get so much information from a magazine, no matter who it is.
Personally I only look at magazines for loose guidelines and ideas. I get the facts from people who have been there & done that.

my neighbor built a 347 stroker, full ported trickflows, .650 solid roller. full length headers, he put a demon 850 and it ran like shit to much gas
i have done my homework and have built enough motors.. first mistake people make is putting too big of carb on thier motor "thinking it'll make more power", i have a few friends who think that
im just looking for anyone who has used these heads. and if they had any problems of any sort

Well I do know that the Vic Jrs. are a really nice piece. RdRunnr has them on his YSi blown 347. The Vic Jrs. are box stock and he laid down 650 rwhp thru his AOD. His final "safe tune" pull he laid down 620 rwhp. So The Vic Jrs. do work.
I haven't heard too much on the AFR's

my 331, afr 205, edel intake, t-trim made 632 rwhp on 93 octane with a 5-speed and conservative timing
both heads work well... since you said you wanted to go with nitrous i would pickup the afr heads with the raised exhaust port option
