I've got a stock 176+k mile long block with shorties, o/r h-pipe, and dynomax mufflers. All with 3.73s and a stock AOD/stall with a transgo shift kit all in my full interior '89 GT. Right now my quads are gone and I get some wheel hop getting off the line whether I flash or brake stall off the line and then get a little wheel spin before she gets up and goes. Best I've done is a 2.30 while running a 14.927 at ~94mph. I figure if I can get it down to a 2.0 then I will be very close to mid 14s and would be happy enough to pull the motor and swap in my new one. The suspension consist of strange 10-ways up front with their coilover kit with 325 lb/in springs, stock upper and lowers in the rear with 50/50 comps and b springs. I've got some Steeda double adj uppers and HPM lowers that I need to put in, but I'm not sure if they will help or not(though the lowers would probably be good).

Thanks for any help,
Jeremy

i would put those uppers and lowers in asap! that should help on your wheel hop! at least the uppers!

you will lose the wheel hop if you install the upper and lower arms....i can guarantee you the bushings are blasted in your existing control arms and they are binding when you try to launch this is causing your wheel hop and should really help your sixty foot times

Also forgot to say that as far as I know it has a stock stall. I don't know if that will change anything.

Control arms, SLICKS, 3000-3500 stall converter ( a GOOD one, ie: Dirty Dog, PI, Emerald , etc... NOT B&M, GER, Boss Hogg, Ford Racing, etc... ) and stock to lightly modified 302's with AOD's like a little more gear but 3.73's are better than stock gears.....

with the stock converter my best 60ft was a 2.01 that was letting the car spin about 3-4 ft out to get the rpms up. that was on 255/60 pepboy tires. i would put the control arms on and remove quad shocks. get some 175 springs for the front. then a good converter.
