Anyone have an educated guess as to how many miles the springs would last on a 351W motor with a .519"/.523" and 232*/236* flat tappet cam? How would one go about checking them if the motor runs excellent like the first day after the current H/C/I swap?

cant help you with how long the springs will hold pressure but you can buy a tool to check them on the car. as soon as you run them they will loose some of there tension. on mine after only 400 miles the pressure was down by 10 lbs.

Thanks. I have an "on car" Moroso 300ft/lb checker arriving from Jeg's in a few days. Hopefully that isn't too low of a checker as far as it's max that it can read. Next I have to figure out what they should be reading - I know which heads I have and which flat tappet cam. The cam is Comp Cam's XE274H - and the motor is usually shifted at 5500rpm or below but never sees over 6000rpm.
