Hi, I'm new to the forum people call me Shooter. Up until about four years ago I've never owned a Ford. Then I bought an F150 and haven't changed my ways since. Recently I just picked up a 1970 Ford F100 with a beefed up 428, the guy built it for a mud truck.
Well, after getting it home I soon realized why he quit, the frame is about to rust out from under it. The truck already has the 9 inch I need. So I decided to put the the motor in something else. I went out and picked up a 93 Mustang LE with a 4 banger 5 speed.
My big question is is it feasible to get the 428 in my car? If so what will I need?

YOu can put just about anything for a motor in these cars with a k- member swap...i have seen 514's, 4v motors, 2v motors, LS1's..etc...

Yes I have seen it done, There is a guy running around Dover in a 90 notch with a 428 and a roots style blower sticking out of the hood.

the 428 fe motor is a little different from the 385 series swap. but can be done in the same manner

not even close. fe motor is way different from the 429-460 blocks. same bell housing. but the front of the motors are completely different

on the fe's the push rods go thru the intake manifolds. and the valve cover rails is part of the intake. but the fe had so many different head it wasnt funny. the 427 side oiler is the most wanted , they came in the old a/c shelby cobras etc.

now the old BOSS 429 was based off the 429-460 block but somewhat different you can use a normal 460 block with boss heads you just have to run oil drain back hose back to the pan

sell the 428 and pick up a 460 to save yourself some difficulty.
