I am installling a Lentech Valve body with electric o/d delete.
Was wondering if any one had pics to share or suggestions on where to mount the switch in a car that never had o/d. Was looking at some oem type switches that might look "natural" on e*ay
Thanks

Your valve body failed to delet the od?
What issues did you have with it?
Was it the street or strip version. They carry a 3 year warranty on them.
sorry for the questions but would like to know what I'm getting into

no it did delete od but it shifted like ass. my stock one was better all the way around. the main thing was from OD back to 3rd it would hit so hard i swore the dash would fall out. i would hope it was a fluke, but the way len acted , i dont really care. hes an ass after you buy something, and told me basically that was the chance i took when i didnt buy a 'whole' transmission from him. oh i forgot, the trans burnt up twice too. but after i sent it back, and put the stock one in it still hasnt died and now i have a VB from silverfox that put it to shame.

What type of trans are you installing it in? AOD, AOD-E, 4R70W?

I just sold a Street Term to a customer. I cleaned it, cared for it, installed it...bla bla.....2 weeks he calls back. "this VB sucks, do you want it back, cause I think I would rather just have the ones you build"

4-3 downshift was harsh, shift points were off, shift calibrations wree soft.

OK, reason I ask is because I was not very happy at all with my Lentech 4R70W valvebody with transbrake. So unhappy, I just installed a Performance Automatic 4R70W valvebody with transbrake. The Lentech brake would creep forward about 2-3" when engaging the brake...the PA unit does not budge at all. Track times will reveal if a delay on release is present...should know by next Saturday.

Silver so you think they are a POS too?
Any mods you know of that would reduce the 4-3 downshift or any mods to the basic Lentech VB you'd recommend?

I think they are the best aftermarket automatic VB you can purchase today....unfortunatly like the rest of the world, it is the units that don't work well, or are never retured to be fixed, that float around and make Len look bad...no one talks about how good the good units are.

I have a letech unit here from the early 90's, and through the years of installing his products for those who wanted them,I have seen changes all the time to the VB's.....can't really tell you which VB is better than another :(

I can't speak to the Lentech AOD valvebodies...but I can about the Lentech4R70W valvebody (with transbrake). I sent it back 2 times and it could not be fixed to work correctly. But, for all I know, the new PA valvebody I just put in could have the same problems. I'll post up when it gets some track time.

Don't know if this means anything but the manual states a harsh 4-3 downshift on decelleration is caused by an incorrect tv cable incorrectly adjustment or Jammed.

Could this be related to the issues you had?

no it wasnt tv cable i assure you. i dont have a carb. im running fuel injection. i brought the tv cable down as far as i could without killing the trans and it still shifted like shit

btw...the statment above is not to be considered "Pro Len", just PRO on this research and development and products...or potential for good products if they turn themselves around.

that person he sold the lentech to was probably me. even if it shifted the way i think it should, the 4-3 down shift would make me never want one again. maybe the cal. was not set up for my set up? they offer three cals i think. it was real strange. it would shift hard under easy acc. but under hard acc. it shifted like a town car. lentech said to ajust the tv pressure down to .5 psi. after doing so the thing was about the same. not impressed so far. the only way this vb would be any good in my opion is in a race only car. and the shifting would have to be addressed.

Guys--

i gotta admit this is scaring me. I just bought a Strip terminator VB, and was expecting it to shift hard but not that hard on the 4-3 down shift. Has any one had any good experiences with the downshift??

I have a Street Terminator valvebody with the # 3 cal. It's been in the car for at least three years. No problems at all. In fact it has worked out alot better than the PA valvebody I had before. With the PA I still had to do the 1-D-1 shift or let it shift itself. It worked better in auto. Took way to long to shift manually. I'm not putting the PA down at all it just didn't shift like the Lentech I have now (fast). Also haven't had any issues with the 4-3 down shift. I just wait till I'm at about 50mph and hit the button.
Just my experience.
Sorry I didn't answer the original question. I cut my switch in right in front of the remote mirror switch. It's the little red one. It was a little too close to the cig. lighter housing so I took that out. Keep the depth of the switch in mind also.

I have to say the Letech is still the best wode ratio VB - I am working hard on my own unit...I am about 7 hours from completing a working unit. It will NOT function like Lentech, and IMO work better due to it's simplicity.
