if i were to come across a good stock AOD trans, what would it cost me to make the trans handle approx. 550-570RWHP? we're talking i need to know WHAT parts ans what it would cost. i would like to buy Erics AOD already built and i trust him, my other option is fully built Lentech but that cost $3500-$3800
Thanks, Scott

A stock AOD is said to hold 400hp wether it is flywheel or RW I dont know, but to make it hold more you just have to replace a few things, the lockup shaft, the clutches/steels and the direct drive drum, I would go with the hardened lockup shaft, Alto racing clutches and at least a 6 friction direct drive drum, you can use the one from an AODE, thats what Im going to use, It has the splines for the lockup shaft all the way up instead of halfway up like the stock drum.

thats mainly for beefing up an 4rw70 but the same techniques work.

The parts themselves are not expensive, the most expensive ones will be the converter and the valve body, the other parts can be had for like 600 or so, depening on where you buy from...
try and find a local transmission shop, I bought most of my parts from ATC

There parts were alot cheaper than I could find online, I bought the drum, pistion, pressure plate, clutches, steels, and OD band for 130,

has alot of good parts and good prices, you can buy the lockup shaft from Baumann same with the OD servo, Wide ratio conversion kit and the 2" OD band conversion kit if you choose to do those.
