I'm posting this on the 3 main sites I read/post at, so sorry if you've seen it already

I got this one for free from a guy I work with. BUT, it looks like something might be wrong. Then again, I might be wrong...
One side is welded together, while the other side has nuts and bolts. I assumed both sides would have nuts and bolts, and I would simply slide the top part over the DS, and bolt up the underside of it. Since one side is welded here, I don't know what to do. Any help?

grind off the welds and find some new nuts and bolts for that side, I guess he maybe lost some of them or broke some and just figured to weld it instead of getting new ones,

I'm willing to bet the reason it is welded is because with that particular loop some people cant get a aluminum driveshaft to fit without rubbing on the bolts. With the alum shaft they usually use the HPM loop. By eliminating the bolts it gave him enough room for everything to fit nicely.

I currently have the same one on my car with the alum shaft & it is really tight by the bolts & will be welding mine on both sides over the winter. I would use the HPM **but** if you have ever had a shaft fail you would know you want to keep it as confined as possible. i.e...a smaller loop on front & back.
