So here's the deal, due to a motorcycle accident, I need to convert to an automatic setup that will allow me to drive one-handed. I have been researching all the different possibilities and have effectively decided on swapping in a 4R70w transmission from a 2003 3.8 Mustang into my 1992 GT and to use a Baumannator TCS in conjunction with it - mainly because I want to wire in the ManuTronic feature to use the cruise control as a paddle shifter. I guess I'd just like to run a few last questions by you guys first to settle myself.
1. In order to swap the new setup in, I need only the following: the 4R70 tranny, a 5.0 flexplate, the correct crossmember, and the TCS (as well as shortening my driveshaft and setting up a cooler system)?
2. My setup is for around 350-400 rwhp, will the aforementioned system work for me or would it be necessary to spring for the Baumann Valve Body Recalibration kit or an aftermarket torque convertor?
3. Is there anything I'm not considering that I should?
Thanks!
