After totaling my Stang, I have picked up a 1964 Ford Falcon Sprint V8 hardtop. I'm using the motor from the Stang, carbing it and tossing it in. Right now it's got a newer 351/C4/8 inch rear combo in it (emissions sticker on the valve cover, 2 barrel, probably makes NO power). I'll re-use the C4, building it up a bit for "aggressive" driving and see how long the 8 inch will hold together, then probably do a 9 inch swap. The leather seats from the Stang are going in as well. It needs floor pans and a little structural work, but hopefully CCR performance has me covered on that. The body work I will attempt to do myself. I'm thinking of doing some old school lead work along with some good body filler where she needs it. I hope to have her on the road by next spring, then the bodywork will come after that. Wish me luck!!

Just out of curiosisty...why would you downgrade from the carb 351 to a carbed 302? If you were stricking with the EFI...I would understand....maybe I don't know what you have done to the old 302 out of your mustang?

I'd swap over the heads & cam onto the 351. Also would install a 9 inch.

the 351 is an emissions motor and it doesn't run. i may build it up as money permits, but for now the 302 is going in for cost reasons. plus it's easier to just throw the complete deal in instead of trying to fit everything to the 351. my 302 has trickflow heads with cobra 1.72 rockers and an e-cam. it made 316/328 on the dyno at the tires in my stang. i've talked to mike about throwing in some new bearings and rings for me. the cylinder walls still have the cross hatch and there is no lip at the tops of the cylinders. from what i've heard, the 8 inch will take some abuse when set up properly, so we'll see how long it lasts. i have NO money to do this, so i'm trying to do this as cheap as possible with whatever i can make parting out the stang.
