First off I'm new to the board so I hope I'm in the right spot. I have a new combination I'm putting in this week and I'm curious what you guys think it should run e.t. and mph when I have everything dialed in. It goes like this: Stock block, stock compression 306, E cam, AFR 185's w/61cc chambers and 1.6's, Cobra int., 24 lb. inj., 65 tb, 73 m/a, bbk cold air, shorty hdrs, 2.5 off road H, 2.5 tail pipes, man. rack, smog pump delete, msd 6a and coil, 3.73's, 255 in tank pump, crane reg., Lakewood 70/30' and 50/50's with the frt. sway bar removed, 275/40/17's Nitto drag rad., and last but not least an AOD with a Lentech valve body (auto, no brake) and a Neal Chance 2700 converter (non-lockup). This will be going in a 91 Coupe that probably weighs about 3000 lb's. I was thinking about loosening the converter to 3200-3500 and possibly buying a good input shaft. Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds like a killer car. My guess would be mid 12's to low 12's. Got any pics of the beast?

Welcome..sounds like a nice little combo. Are you running skinnies up front or full size tires? Sounds like it should be good for a low 12/high 11 sec combo to me.

Well I loosened the converter but I switched heads to some Twisted Wedges I already had ( The AFR's didnt have enough valve to piston clearance). I'm still hoping for mid 12's with these heads. Now if I can get my converter back, pick up the shaft, and get back to town to put it all back together I could find out what it will run.

I'm taking the car to the track tomorrow. It sure feels alot better than the old motor.

I'm taking the car to the track tomorrow. It sure feels alot better than the old motor.I'm eatin those words. On 26 x 8.5 e.t. drags it went 1 mph and not even .2 e.t. faster. I dont know what to do I'm so frustrated with this car. I could put a Pro 5.0 drive train in this car and it would somehow manage to run 13's. Tonite 1.80 60, 8.43 1/8th, 13.25 @ 102. previous best with junk motor and gt-40 heads and tighter conv. 1.86 60, 8.56 1/8, 13.42 @ 101. Needless to say I'm very disappointed ! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Besides dynomite, I came up with that on my own.

1. DYNO TUNE. - Prob. leaving a lot of power on the table without a good tune.

2. SHIFT POINTS? What are you shifting at? With a good dyno chart you can mathmatically calculate the optimal shift points under the curve rather than the old "woops redline better shift" technique I enjoy using.

With a good dyno chart you can mathmatically calculate the optimal shift points under the curve rather than the old "woops redline better shift" technique I enjoy using. My aod shifts by itself on the 1-2 at about 5800 then I shift the 2-3 at about 6000 and go through the lights at 5500. Looking back I think my fuel pump might be weak, I bumped the timing a little and it slowed down .3 and 3mph, I put the fuel pressure down around where a couple other cars run and slowed down the same. How does this sound ? I set the fuel pressure with my Crane adjustable regulator to 44 psi w/ the vacuum off then put the vacuum line back on and it only drops to 40 psi @ idle and goes up to 42 psi @ full throttle. I'm thinkin pump and/or regulator.
