Do any of you especially Mike remember what degree my cam is set at. It's an E-303 and is having trouble idling/running and need to know so it can be set at the correct number. Trying to get this thing on the road. It has been driven but does stall if slowing down when pressing clutch in. Thanx.

Chris, I forwarded this to Mike but I am positive it was installed straight up.

The cam is installed straight up. Will it hold an idle at all or does it always stall?

It runs good at startup but when it warms up it drops around 700 rpm's or less on the verge of cutting out but it idles a little rough. I have heard cars with the e-cam and sounds solid but not mine. I drove it today and it feels good but when I slow down it feels as if it will stall.

Did you do an idle relearn procedure??? I'm going to assume that the battery was disconnected when the cam was installed. If it was, then the engine needs to idle for approx 10 minutes to relearn the idle.

If not, then it sounds like you have a IAC solenoid issue.

He had a completely new engine/drivetrain installed. Sounds like you need to have the idle and tps set.

Had a ford mechanic say that some TPS's sensors do fail and thought I should buy a new one to set. I cleaned the IAC out just for shits and giggles and it wasn't that problem. Had someone say it could be the cam timing but would not touch it due to not knowing what degree it was set at so they bumped the timing up instead to keep a steady idle.

What did they set the timing to? Also with the car warmed up try unplugging the IAC while its idling and see it stalls or not. It may need the base idle adjusted.

I doubt its anything to do with the cam timing, check the TPS and spark timing, base idle and TPS needs to be adjusted one after another everytime you make a adjusted, make sure you dont have a vacuum leak, you also do need to drive the car for at least 20 minutes so the ECU can relearn. When making any changes, do one thing at a time and need to also have ECU relearn every time too.

Timing was set at 12*. Will try to unplug the IAC next. The TPS is next to figure out.
