Manual to Automatic with Manual VB questions

I am installing a manual VB based automatic transmission in my car. The car came from the factory with a manual tranny.

I assume I will want to use my stock computer (for the manual tranny) , not a computer for an automatic car, right?

How do I "fool" the computer into thinking the clutch is in when the transmission is in Park or Neutral?

You are correct, you would want to stay with your original "manual trans" ecm. I believe the automatic ECM advances timing in between shifts if i'm not mistaken.

I'm also assuming you are referring to "starting the car" when you say "fooling the computer that the clutch is in"? this is accomplished by wiring in a nuetral saftey switch. meaning the car will only start if the shifter lever is in the park/neutral poition.
