Hit the track again for the second time last night. Two best runs were 13.3@103.67 with a 1.9 60ft and 13.42@102.66 with 1.9 60ft. I lowered the tires to 13 lbs and had no spinning this time. I love the AOD. Raced a friend in his 88 GT which is basically stock except for exhaust, drag radials and a 125 shot of juice and we had a great race. Held him off until the last 50 feet of the 1/4 and he got me by a nose.

I NEED TO LOWER THESE 60FT'S BIG TIME. Any thoughts?

89 LX 306, twisted heads, f-cam, track heat intake, 24lbers, AOD, Edge converter with 3200 stall, 75mm tb, M/T 255/60 drag radials at 13psi, 4:10's and full leather interior :-D

What is the weight of the car and you? Are the DR's 15" or 16". What is your current launch procedure? You should have some better 60's in there. I pulled a 1.81 60' with my sons yesterday and it is a stock '93 notch T5 (headers and cai) on 275/40/17 streets. He was pulling 2.01's and was spinning too much, maybe you need just a little spin with the f-cam. Where does you converter actually stall? With the f-cam I would think you would be hitting peak torque somewhere between 4200 and 4400. That means you want to be launching somewhere in the 34-3600 rpm area combination of converter and spin if necessary. By your et and mph I would say it is just a matter of technique to lower 60's. You have the power. I agree with you, after driving the 5 speed yesterday I love my aod. Sounds like you had fun!

Im running 255/60 15 M/T drag radials. My stall is set for 3200 on a Edge converter. I have been launching the car by foot braking the car till just before the rear tires break loose, then I mash the gas just as the last yellow light shows. Some guys recommend launching off of idle, others at 1500 rpm. Im not crazy about the f cam in my aod and may consider a custom ground spec'd to run with nitrous but others seem to love the f-cam. Im just looking to get the best of both worlds I guess. And yes, I had a great time. Very addicitng!!

I simply preload the suspension, about 1500 rpm's, and mash the gas. I'm now cutting low 1.7's consistently (only made 246rwhp) and getting little to no tire spin.

Suspension is:

Front - Strange 10 way adjustable shocks, QA1 coilover kit w/ 200lb springs

Rear - Stock springs/shocks UPR Pro lower control arms

AOD w/ DirtyDog 3800 non-lockup converter 4.10 gear

On my way to Summit right now to pick up Strange adjustable rear shocks to install with my air bag - car is dropping too much in the rear and lifting too much in the front, wasting momentum.
