My car currently has an AOD with a shift kit. If I floor the car from a dead stop, it will not even chirp the tires 90% of the time. If I took it to a drag strip it would certianly have no traction issues what so ever. If I installed an Edge 3000 lockup stall or eqivalent, then what sort of reduction in et should I expect? This will be assuming equal traction for both scenarios. Lets say with 26" slicks for both stock stall and 3000 stall situations. Could I expect to see .3th reduction for a stock longblock coupe? Perhaps .5 thenths? Just curious about the actual improvements a stall of that size will make. I know that it would be more of a difference with a 11:1, Victor Jr. headed, 250 duration @ .50 cam, but I'm talking stock 5.0 with cats and all. Nothing but a converter swap.

Back in the day my car was a bolt on aod hatch. With a bunch of mods it would only pull 14.7s at 97mph with a 2.39 60ft. I added gears and a converter at the same time and the car responded with a spinning 14.0 at 98mph with a 2.0 60ft time. If I were to put on a set of drag radials I think a 13.8 was possible.

Yes, I can see a .3-.5 reduction but I dont see the need to put full out slicks on the car yet. Stick with a nice set of nittos, bfg, or MT street radials for now.
