I'm sure glad I found this site awhile ago. I no longer own a Mustang nor do I race anymore at the track since my spinal cord problems get worse year by year. Even though I own an engine only SBF forum I was drawn here for the great section on trannies. To keep my love of Mustangs alive I've found a solution. My platform is a 79 Ranchero GT that I can slide into and drive. The build up is as follows, 89 5.0 HO with GT40P heads and retaining the Ford EFI less emissions. Tranny is out of a 90 LX and it's getting 4R70W guts. The rear I have finished building and it waits on the shelf, 9" 3.50 traction lok. I even reworked a new Ranchero fuel tank and it has a factory Fox body fuel pump installed, also waiting for the day when everything is ready to install into my daily driver.

the VB was the first thing that I finished. No epoxy and I kept it on the mild side. For a TC I will probably go for around a 2400 stall but I haven't attempted to cross that bridge yet on brand. It will be lock up for sure.
