My stock T-5 has 130,000 miles on it. It shifts fine but since I'm building a new engine for it, I figure the added HP/TQ will put a hurting on it. Since My old engine is coming out, I figure now would be the best time to replace it with a new one or possibly have it rebuilt to handle the added power.
Is there anyone local that is reputable at rebuilding them or does anyone know of someone selling a low mileage TKO-500 or 600?
I'm weighing out my options to see if I can either have mine built or buy a used Tremec before having to shell out $2000 for a new set-up.

If you want a T-5 to "hold up" to anything, you will need to step up to a G-Force kit. Their prices are around $1200 just for the hard parts, not including the rebuild kit and labor. So in that case, you are now in the neighborhood of $2000.
But remember, if you get a TKO you will still need a new bellhousing and clutch along with the driveshaft yoke if it doesn't come with one.

Locally the best place is Bob Hanlon (http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com). I think the drive was only about 45 minutes.

It's soooo easy to rebuild a T5. It honestly just comes apart, all you really need aside from a decent variety of tools is a press for the bearings. I was surprised how easily they come apart, if you can rebuild a motor and rear end, you can do a T5.

And if you are interested in rebuilding with the G-force internals their shop is right up near CJ pony parts, near Harrisburg.
