I was wondering if anyone here can tell me if the converter in my car is bad or is it the valvebody. the car will not roast the tires from a dead stand still romp on the gas and the car will not accelerate out of the hole at the track and my best 60' is consistant 2.3, but after that the car runs strong all the through the 1/4 the car still has the stock gears, and i have added mac headers, cobra upper and lower intake, cold air induction, 75mm pro m meter, and 65mm throttlebody :?:

What is your ET/trap speed during those 2.3 60ft times?

what converter is in it? If it is stock than it is fine, the stock stalls at like 1600 or so and with stock gears you wont spin them at all, get some 4.10s and you'll spin them a little bit but you really need a converter.

A converter will help, but is a waste of money IMO, unless you take the stock gears and throw them away...Best case scenario, you have 327's...That's what mine has, but I also have 2400 stall and a supercharger...guess what? Still lame from a dead stop....

IF you're staying naturally aspirated, go with 410's, at the very least 373's...

If you plan a power adder in the future, go 373's, or at least 355's...

I just got my car back together this evening and this weekend it will get the 373's.....Then she'll be ready to rock...guaranteed...
