Street Car with AC and PS.....Might go to track couple times a year...

Will do Mild Bolt ons, and probably HCI ....

Would be happy with a low 12 high 11 car...

Ive always wanted a Kenne Bell since i first saw them Many Years ago...

ive read at times they heat up, no good on top end, etc....

of course i know the pros - instant boost, monster torque, etc..

We know that the Vortechs/Prochargers have great track records

My question is basically , with a mostly Street Driven AOD should i go with the fun KB or the Vortech/procharger that may give better#'s

id like to hear from some KB owners if your out there!

Thanks, Joezeta

I had a KB 1500 on my old 89 GT Vert. I was not impressed at all. The car definitely seemed to run hotter in regular old daily driving, for whatever reason.

As soon as I found a buyer, it was sold and replaced with a Vortech.
Comparing the two types, I personally like the way a centrifugal seems to keep pulling harder and harder as rpm's climb, whereas the KB pulled hard instantly, then went flat on it's face...With the right gearing and converter, you'd have no issues with torque on a Vortech or ProCharger car.

One of my old cars ran great with an old A trim and H/C/I swap like you mention. A Trim along with a set of Edelbrock heads, F cam, Cobra intake, 2800 stall, LenTech VB, and 355 gears, the car went a best of 11.60@120 on drag radials...Absolutely no drag only mods either. No trick suspension pieces, Swaybar was in place, etc...Very fun street car that was as happy on the city streets tearing it up, as it was on the highway with the 355's and OD tranny...I tuned it using an old Extender, a BTM, and an FMU. Caveman style, lol....

We put a pro charger and intercooler on an 03 mustang, very drivable and very fast. The car went 12.20 with an aod and no other mods. he drives the car back and forth to Virginia and Delaware with no issues.

:-D LOL, Wake up turboman, I did it as well, but he wants to go high 11's/low 12's...That's why I gave him an example of an old proven 11 second combo...;)
