You might want to look into a G-force T-5. Strong and light.

Or give Fast88 a shout. He used to run a Hanlon Motorsport prepped Proshifted TKO. I believe he went 11.0's-10.90's behind a high winding 306.

I would contact Liberty Gear or whoever you are going to have build the tranny. If you are going with custom ratios I assume you are going to spend some serious dough. They should be willing to spend some time with you to ensure you make the right choices. What brand tranny were you looking at going with?

Either would work fine with shifting at that rpm. If I was you would definately go with the face plating. With face plating they actually machine the face of the slider instead of the inside. That way you don't have to worry about wear to the slider or deflection when shifting into fourth.

I had a TKO tranny in my old coupe that I turned 7400. I had it faceplated by LIberty, worked great but horrible customer service. I will never send anything back to them again. PM me for details if you like.

:-D I had a Promotions Tremec TKO that had all the bells n whistles...I had a lil steel headed 306 in a full weight lx hatch use to run 11.70s wit it on motor and 10.40s on a 175 hit and mine i use to shift wit no clutch basically(JUST A LITE TAP OF THE CLUTCH PEDAL)...I use to launch at 7200 on the high chip and every other gear at about 6500. Then I put it behind my 342 stroker and on a 225 shot it was just way to vilant on 26" tires. Wit 4.10 gears and the juice the 342, I ran outta gear at about the 1k foot mark n I still went 10.17@ 138mph. But I swear by those trannies. U can not kill em as long as u change the fluids like ur supposed to...Those t-5s work nice too just the reason they usually break when u start makin decent power is the cases tend to flex and sometimes even break.

Good luck to you on whatever decision u make.

Id like to build a single turbo car for the street/strip n put one of those trannys in it. Nothin like shifting n goin 9's
