What are the options for 3" mufflers/catback systems with dumps? I am looking for something that will make good power but is not obnoxiously loud.

Mac offers a reasonably priced solution :-D
I'd love to see what your car would sound like with long tube headers, Dr. Gas shorty x-pipe, Dynomax race bullets, and a set of turndowns..... But that would break the "obnoxiously loud stipulation  ;)

I would go with dyno max utlra flows. You could make you own cat back dump system.

eric, i ran mac longtubes, mac prochamber and mac dumps (all 3 inch) on my 95 and i loved the way it sounded. not loud at all at lower rpm's and it had a nice deep sound at wot. the only issue i had is the mac headers get a lot of surface rust, but mine were not coated or anything.
what about hooker aero chambers?
anyone use them?
looking for something differant than flowmasters and mac
lmk
they are 3.5" but it'll work

I didn't think you could get ultraflows in 3". If you can that means I spent alot of money on 2.5s for no good reason.
I know you can get the dynomax race bullets, but they are def loud.

Ahh, the 3" muffler delimma. I want a reasonably quite exhaust and will be running custom 3" tailpipes. I originally bought 3" Hooker Aero-chambers, but later decided I needed to go with a straght-through design, not to mention the Aero-chambers are very heavy and bulky. So after some research and a call to Borla I decide on 3" Borla XS Pro's, very nice muffler except they neglected to tell me that they neck down to 2 1/2" next to the muffler on the inlet and outlet  even though I informed them the car would be making 700+ hp. After more research I narrow it down to the Borla XR-1 Race muffler or Dynomax ultra-flo's. After more research and sound clips I decided on the Borla XR-1's along with Dynomax race bullets as a resonator. Should be running soon.....8)

THe Dynomax Ultraflow. I have seen between 8RWHP and 12 RWHP on big CI NA cars. And a turbo car uppwards of 18 RWHP.
A very quite muffler with little to NO back press.
My car makes 675 RWHP thur an AOD with these mufflers.

I am wanting to try the Flowmaster 3" system(full exhaust,no dumps) minus the mufflers. With either borlas or ultra flos in thier place.I just wonder how it fits, clearance issues and all.I run a UPR non off road X-pipe and ultra flo SS catback but with the turbos I think I could use the extra flow of a 3" system.
