I finally found a clean 89 LX. I will be bringing it to Laroccas' Performance in NJ for a full tune and dyno within the next month and I am looking for some input. The motor (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=6489128&posted=1#) is now a 306 with forged pistons, milled crank, Track Heat intake (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=6489128&posted=1#) (upper and lower), Trick Flow Twisted heads with 1:6 rockers, F-cam, Edelbrock (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=6489128&posted=1#) 70 mm throttle body (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=6489128&posted=1#), 4:10's in the rear, a AOD with PA components and a TCI Street Fighter converter with 3000 stall. The complete tune will be around 675.00 with a chip burned, this includes the dyno. My concern however is whether or not this set up will work in harmony. If any changes need to be made to make this combo work better, I need to do it before the tune and chip or else I will need to blow another 675.00 for changes made after the tune. Is any one out there running a similar set up? I purchased this car (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?p=6489128&posted=1#) with this set up, all except the TCI converter. Any guesses on the dyno numbers? I believe the headers are BBK, no cats with a H-pipe. Thanks in advance. Thirsty. Forgot to mention 24lb injectors. I would like them to perform the tune because they have a very good rep and need this car to be reliable and safe as it will be my daily driver.

You may want to do a little further investigating into Laroccas before committing...Jimmy Larocca is no longer the owner, and two of his "tuners" no longer work there. Just a head's up...

As for the combo itself...if I was going to pay $675 for a tune up, I am sure that I would also have a custom cam ground for it beforehand...You have some decent parts, so why limit it with a old school camshaft?

Bob is right. As of right now there is not a single employee of Larocca's left from the original crew. I don't believe they even have a tuner there right now with Andrew having recently left as well....

Just a suggestion...

If you're going to spend $675 on a tune why not get an Anderson Ford Motorsport PMS? You will spend alittle extra for the PMS but you'll never have to worry about spending $600+ everytime you change your setup. I like the PMS so much I made my brother buy one for his stock notchback lol.

Speaking of tuners, my car does have a Crane Cams Interceptor 2 computer in it, but it is not hooked up. The previous owner said that it was set up for the bottle and disconencted it when the juice was removed from the car. I know it is older than the Anderson, but better than nothing. Anyone out there using/have used the Interceptor 2? Hit me up please.

the interceptor is not to far off a pms..for what you have it would work great

I can burn a chip for $475.00 You can also do a pms system as well wich requires no burning of chips. I def agree on a custom cam as well.
