I've got a question regarding wheel backspacking. Heres what i plan on doing. I'm running the stock size 225/60R15 tires up front with bigger 275/50R15s out back for the street currently. The wheels on the car now are Centerline Warriors: frnts are 15x7 w/5" backspacing and the rears are 15x8.5 w/5" backspacing as well. I definitely notice the tires rubbing the fenders on hard bumps/pot holes. The car has all the factory rear suspension still in tact, quad shocks and all.

My question is, once i get a good set of uppers and lowers on there and ditch the quad shocks, whats the proper backspacing to prevent the tires from rubbing the fenders? I'm guessing going back to the stock backspacing would make sense, which i think is 4.5" but i could be way off. I just need someone to clarify this for me so i can order my new set of draglites. Thanx in advance guys.

When I had my 15x8 I used a 5.5 offset and now with my 15x10 Im using a 6.5 offset. Might need to used a BFH on the inside wheel house.

Like 2much said, you would need 5.5" b/s to bring the wheels inside. You may have to beat he inside fenderwells a little, but it wont be noticeable. Also with a good set of upper/lower control arms, you can ditch the quad shocks for more room too.

Thanx guys for the info. Now i can order my draglites. I figure if there is an issue w/fitment, atleast until i get uppers/lowers, i can just flip the quad shocks like i read in another post. I've definitely got access to a BFH so that shouldn't be a problem either. I'll try and get some before and after pictures up.

Hate to hog the thread but, i've got another question regarding my track set-up. As far as the skinnies, whats the best size and type of tire to use? I'm most likely gonna run the 3 1/2's up front. As far as the Drag Radials in the rear i was thinkin of the runnin the either the BFG Drag Radials or the Mickey Thompson Street Radials. Anyone have any positive or negative feedback on these two tires?

Will the car see more strip time, or more street time?

Imho, I like my bfg's,(old style not the new tribal tatoo looking pattern) they hooked up fairly decently at the track at least, (i'm not so happy with how they hook on the street) their tread life is "fair" (alittle less then what you would get out of a Comprable Nitto D/R)
As for the mickey thompsons I loved them, and have heard nothing but good things about them, after a good burnout I found they hooked like glue on the street, so I can only imagine their performance at the strip.
They only reason I got rid of them was I have not upgraded to 31 splines in the rear and I don't feel the stock setup would hold up to a decent launch on the MTs.
