Quick ?, I have never had an aod at the track.

In my stick shift Jim Summers taught me to do a quick 2nd gear burn out to heat the slicks quickly with a lot of wheel speed not to put the heat in the engine and then pre-stage. It always worked for him and I.

With the aod I have a manual valve body, do you guys use 2nd to get wheel speed or is 1rst all you use?

I used to start in first to about 3k and shift to 2nd to about 4k for a couple seconds

Yeah, just get the tires spinning pretty good in first then shift to second, and do your normal burnout time to finish it out. I prefer the shorter burnout myself to the John Force style.;)

You got it. 1st gear till about 4K rpm then 2nd gear at 5-6K for another 3-5 depending on track condition's.

thanks.

Can't wait to get out to the track with the aod. Last year with the t5 I trapped at 123mph, should be good for some good et's.

What kind of converter do You have? I just trapped 123 a couple week's ago in My aod. My best was an 11.132 @ 122.735 though. What kind of ET did You pull when You trapped 123 with the 5 speed? How much power were You making to the tires? I am somewhere around 400 rwhp with a non lockup edge.
