I may have asked this question a while back but unfortunately I did not write it down. So if anyone could give me assistance again it would be appreciated. I have a 1999 Mustang GT. What brands are good as well? I want something good. Thanks!

Ok I found the precision industries Stallion torque converter. What stall do I need? Do I want lock up or non-lock up? Is precision industries a good brand to get?
http://www.converter.com/stallion.htm- Thats the website with all the information on it!

Call them. They will custom make a converter based on what you want to do and your vehicle combo. Anything from a mild 2200 stall to a wild 5000 stall.

yea I called them today they said I need a mild torque converter....I wrote it all down. It was really pricey though. Also I have 70k miles on my car and basically have bolt ons. I plan to get a tune soon for my 4.10 drag gears and super chip. Any general suggestions on what I can to build up my auto GT to take on my fellow srt-4, evo friends who think manual is the way to go and wouldn't be caught dead driving a "slow" automatic. :-) Thanks for any input, I'm kind of hijacking my own thread LOL!!!!

I would give Edge (http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/) a call too. They are supposed to have some really good converters for a mild car too.

They said around 374.50 which isn't bad for a mild one. They said I would need a custom one to have excatly what is done to my car. Does a shift kit go hand in hand with a converter? If so what brands are one's to look for. Sorry for all the questions. I'd just like to have a well done final product. Thanks for the help by the way :-)!

I suggest Jmod -cheap, easy, great results.
Read this entire Artical before doing any upgrades to your 4R

Your converter choice will reley on HP/Torque for this car. You have the benifit of a veriable lockup trans, so get a stall that is perfect for the car.
Choose a converter that is roughly 200RPM stall below your max torque curve - that is the ideal converter - but for street that is usually too high. The 4.6 in mustang REALLY likes a 2500-2800 stall for street.
Gear the car for best 1/4 performance. I think 4.10 are a little steep for street on a 4R70W and preffer 3.73/3.90. I know it isn't that much of a difference, but the wide ration trans wraps up too tight too fast with 4.10 or larger.
The AOD on the other hand, 4.10 are the only way to go :)
I suggest Edge/PI/Circel D converters.

After the converter throw the bottle on it with some D/R's and smoke those guys....remember, "Fast & The Furious" was only a movie and not real life, a lesson i like to teach to imports whenever possible:-D
p.s. Some imports are fast and amazing, no disrespect to them intended;)
