I went for a cruise tonight and while just easily driving in OD I noticed the revs kept going up,well about two minutes later I have no OD.Everything else works fine but no OD.Any suggestions?

AOD has all the upgraded internals
PA full manual vb with elec. OD and transbrake.
AOD-E wide ratio gear set
PI billet input shaft
PI stallion 2600 stall lock up convertor.

With the full manual I assume you have no TV cable....

Did you check the fluid...low, smell burnt, etc...

might be in the switch for OD possibly

That is not good....see if you let off the gas in manual 2nd if the car has ENGINE braking, or does it just freewheel?

Band is probably failed due to inadaquate OD servo pressure or leak.

I am going to check it out this weekend.I work to much thru the week to find time .Yeah it has no cable.I am thinking switch also(fingers crossed).
Silverfox-thanks I will try and see if it does.I didnt try that but I did ride about 20 miles back home and the other gears seem fine.Man does it suck taching 3400-3500 rpm@70 mph on the interstate when your used to the od pulling it way down from that, lol. Thanks for the replys guys.

Slipping is bad...the switch might have failed, but the solinoid might have lost seal and bleed off as well....there are too many variables at the moment.

Well I checked the fluid and it does smell a little burnt,Also it just free wheels in second gear but it always did.I am trying to find someone locally that knows AOD's in case I do have to pull it.

Well, it sounds like you burnt the OD band - of so the pan will be full of gunk also. The next step besides fixing it would be to find out why it happen? SInce I don't know how that VB works entirely, you might consider asking PA about why it happen, and make sure the seals for the OD servo are replaced.

Yeah,I guess it is time to pull it.I have been debating whether to go non lock up or not so I guess while it is out I will have to decide.

If the VB is good, then you might carfully inspect the 2/3 accumulator and the OD servo fo lip seal damage.

Well its been awhile but I am just now getting it back together. It turns out a lip seal WAS cut when the tranny was built originally and that was most of the reason,it had some parts needing replaced but at least I found out it has alot of the good parts in it that I was told it had.I had the tourqe convertor sent off and made a non-lock up,so that should help ALOT! I also had wolfe thru the floor subframe connectors and a maximum motorsports roll bar put in .Also got the tourqe boxes completly welded up.No more twisting now.

Silverfox, you were right about the od band, lip seals, and valve body and pan full of gunk. Thanks alot for the insight, you definately know your AOD's.

When it comes to Lincolns, 60-66 Ford F100, and AOD's.....I aspire to be the bible.
