I just picked up a pair of draglites. The front tires are 165x15 the rears are 15x8 with 5.5 backspacing. My question is what size tire can I fit on the rear with out talking off the quad shocks? also do weld rims need to be balanced for street driving? thanks

you dont have to balance tires at all but to answer your question you should welds are just like any other wheel

You will need to balance the tires that you mount on ANY rim.

You can probably fit a 255/60r15 on the rim without any clearance issues.
If anything, you will need to flip the quad shock.

I have 245 16 nittos on my car now, I think the 255 would work than again I hear 275 will work. And you siad flip the quad, you mean jsut turn it around?

Ive run 275/60s and 28x11.5 et streets with the same wheels but dont know about the quad shocks. One question why do you want to keep them??

I have been told the wheel hop is insane with out them on. But like I said thats only from what I have been told. Also 2MUCHBOOST did you have to roll the fender?

Nope. I dont have them and have no wheel hop, with all stock susp. But you do have to beat the inner wheel house for the 28x11.5s

And your car sees alot more track time then mine im sure and no wheel hop with out the quads. I might have to look into taking them off. My car is mainly a street car so if no hop on a drag car off they go.

If you upgrade your stock control arms then the wheel hop shouldn't be bad without the quads..

I have Maximum Motorsports lower control arms in now, so maybe I will take the quads off.
