I bought the 5/30 that is good for 1 year or 15k miles, which ever comes first according to them.

When pouring it in, it seemed a bit thinner then I recall the standard Mobil 1 5/30 to be.

Just wondering if anyone else has purchased this oil and noticed the same thing.

I would normally change the oil twice a year (standard mobil 1 5/30) so I figured I'd try this stuff.

I've only put around 1k miles on the car since April.

Don, what does your OWNERS MANUAL say reguarding oil changes????

FOLLOW THE OWNERS MANUAL. Don't waste your money on that extended life bullshit.

Hell, I use Mobil 1 synthetic and still change it every 3-4k miles.

Darin, I don't plan on keeping it in there for 15k miles. When the car was a daily driver I still changed the mobil 1 every 3k miles.

I only bought this extended wear because the car sits and does not get driven daily.

It states it is good for 15k miles or one year, whtever comes first.

Like I said, I've only put 1k miles on the car since April.

Most oils don't protect engines that are not running. The only way to truly protect an engine that is going to be sitting, is to pickle the motor. Basically fill up the engine with oil till it comes out of the oil fill. Your best bet is to use the regular Mobile 1 and start the car for a few minutes each day.

It usually gets driven on the weekends
