and no matter what you do, you just can't get it to stop?

So I blew my tranny out...most of you prob know that by now.

The tranny guy takes it apart, stripped the splines of the hardened intermiate shaft. Mind you, I did this at a WOT jaunt on street tires in 273 up by Fair hill nature center when I started fast from the 213 light.

So anyway, he fixes...then tells me it aint under his warrantee (I had him rebuild the tranny 4 months ago) because it was a hard part that broke, and it broke because the 4 inch stroke on the motor just is too much for the tranny.

So he had that done last Friday......so I call to pick it up today....its still not done. OK what's the problem. We found a valve body problem its not shifting right from 2-3 when its in auto, when you shift it manually it shifts great and its there everytime but its 'screwy' on the 2-3 shift. We cleaned out the valve body and found a little debris clogging one of the lines but its still not shifting right so we are going to put a new valve body in it today.

OK....hey wait a sec....you just told me the valve body is all screwed up didn't you? yes....and that it is screwed up on the 2-3 shift....yes....well gosh golly dangit the tranny broke on a 2-3 shift....sure sounds like they are related to me...."no, they are not related".

I know I know....its very easy to explain.....the valve body got screwed up because of the break.....but how do I know the valve body being screwed up isn't what caused the break? From my memory it seemed to hold first an extra long time and then blow right past 2nd on half throttle runs. Anyway....I feel like I am being screwed on this one simple because he doesn't think the AOD no matter how well built will ever last behind my stroker. I'm really starting to get pissed....not just at the tranny anymore.

Thanks for the space to get that off my chest

Sorry to hear about your continued problems :( I don't get why he thinks the AOD won't hold up. I have been making a lot of torque/power behind my aod for many years now and it has never given me a hint of trouble. I know a lot of other AOD guys as well who would say the same thing. Once you get your car back I'd stay the hell away from that place for sure. How does that c6 look?

I haven't even opened it up yet. Been too busy belly aching about my AOD. ;)

Funds are so damn tight right now that I had to make a new plan....it doesn't look like I will be able to sell this AOD for anything close to even cover this latest fix and I don't have enough money to do the c6 right now so I am thinking I will get the car back (today or tommorrow) and then just drive it. When the AOD breaks be it next week, next month or next year, I will pull it out and throw it out. Hopefully it won't be for a few months otherwise I will end up hainvg to park the car for the season since I gotsa no money and no job right now.

Hopefully it lasts a while. I still don't get it though, cause I know of guys with stock rebuilds who ran just good valve bodies and converters and they held lots of power. I know the feeling about money...i have so much stuff going on now that I can't finish my car till later in the year :(

Well there is still the possibility that I had a Monday morning part and the new one will be a better quality.
