i noticed today that my balancer is moving back and forth while running at idle....(towards the front of car and back towards the engine)....probably about a half an inch of movement.....the crank pulley isn't moving...just the balancer and it doesn't have any rubber or anything else coming out out it...........i guess i'm buying a new one......what type should i get and from where?

only reason noticed was b/c i put a tranny cooler and lower thermostate on my car this weekend and had it running while i was watching for leaks of any kind.............

also...i bought BBK equal length headers from my buddy the other night.....he bought some copper gaskets for it and it has a set of gaskets in the kit..........should i use these or throw them out and buy the felpro's ??

thanks in advance guys!

If you need a balancer, you might as well get a SFI approved one. Do it right the first time. Any of the SFI approved ones are good. Fluidamper, Romac, Powerbond, and I have even heard the Summit balancer is nice too.

i think i would just get a stock replacement and save getting a $300 dollar balancer for future build.

If your engine is basically stock I'd opt for a stock replacement too...

i think i'll get a stock one also....my car is going to remain a stock short block without a doubt for a few more years and probably a stock long block unless i get a deal on a set of heads. Also no nitrous or blower is going to be bolted on before a rebuild.

thanks guys!
