Well its time to build my tranny so i can dip into the low 13's

i can use all the help i can get so if you have any information on the good ole AOD please post it up, What stall converter, valve body (i was going to go Lentech Manual valve body), What else i'm clueless here after the valve body and converter...

Your help is appreciated and if you have a shop in the Eastern Pa. Western Nj. area that would do a good job at a reasonable price it would be nice to have a contact.

Should i get an alluminum drive shaft to go with the new tranny? anything else i should replace while i'm at it???

another thing to note is that my car is a bolt on car right now but will be something very respectable one day... so i need this tranny to be built so it will hold what i throw at it...

I would get a stock rebuild with extra direct clutches, a one piece input shaft, a Lentch street terminator valve body if it's a street car, and a good converter like a Stallion PI or an Edge, and a good tranny b&m tranny cooler and you should be all set. If you're not too far from Delaware there is Deltrans (http://www.deltransinc.com/) who does an excellent job rebuilding AOD's. They did mine a few months back.

Do you think the stock rebuild would hold up to whatever power i throw at it?

and how much do you think that whole rebuild that you recomended would cost?

well if i was going to doit agian with whats availible now i would do a stock 4r70w from a 3.8 newer stang and put in a pa manual vb and swap the tail shafts. that way you can turn lock-up on and off.
