04 4r70w into 89 fox

Just wanted to put a list together to see what I will need to do the swap. 89 mustang 302. Have a Tremec 3550 (5 speed) in the car now. Car makes 525rwhp right now. Will a stock 04 4r70w be ok behind that much power for very long? Here is what I thought I would need.

1. Trans 4r70w
2. Different tail housing....which one?
3. Tq. converter
4. Manual VB
5. Shifter
6. Good trans cooler
7. Flex plate

Am I missing anything?
Also is $250 a good deal for a very clean 46k mile 4r70W?

all that is great, good homework.
You will want to note that it might not have speedo splines, probably does not. CHECK for it.
Your driveshaft might need some attention length wise.
The stock trans should live up to this, if NA, but you should get some miles on it before issues arrise.

The guy selling the trans says he has a tail housing from a aod with the 7 tooth speedo splines. Can I just unbolt the tail housing and put the 7 tooth one on and be good to go? You say NA it should be fine...my car has a vortech S-trim on it. Mostly just drive it on the street but take it to the track a few times a year. Best time in the 1/4 is 10.98 @125. I know it's a guess..but do you think it will hold up?

The 04 tranny is from a 3.8 V6 car correct?

no, the tailshaft has the speedo splines, and you have to tear apart the trans to do the swap.
Check for the speedo splines first, then make an offer.
