I have decided that the simplest and easiest way for me to be able to have the 4r70w gear set in my 95 gt is to install a 4r70w trans. I have been doing a lot of reading and from what I have found is basically that I need to find a trans from 93-95 car other than a lincoln/ltd/grandmarquis etc. Mainly so I wont have to change out the electronics from 10ohm to 1ohm.

Does anybody see any flaws with this plan or should I just buy a 98-01 trans and swap out the electronics for a stronger trans?

Any light on this matter will help me out dramatically..

If you have a 94/95 stang and want a 4R...find any V6 4R from 98-03 (note 01-03 might no have speedo splines, do not use 04+) and bolt it in, swap your VB from your current AODE onto the 4R (cut off the alignment dowls) use your old (or NEW purchased solenoids) and wires, swap the tailhousings - go get it tuned. Tune mandatory.

There are other ways to do the swap, but the mentioned above is the straightest and easiest way

Sorry, I should have mentioned that my car is a t5 car right now, so i will be starting from scratch. And I also have a quarter horse on my car so the tuning wont be a issue.

Don't waste money on any early transmissions.

If you are going to tune it with the quarthore, and not the stock EEC, go for the 98-03 trans with speedo splines - who cares what electronics it has.

The quarterhorse is only a piggyback tuning system, I cant change what ohm resistance the computer expects. BUT from what I understand, all I have to do is put all the electronics from a aode inside a 4r70w. And retune for the correct shift points.

Is there any other changes that need to be need? Is the valvebody a neccessary change? I can get a shifter from a 4r70w mustang if thats what matters.

SO you are going to use the AUTO EEC with the quarterhorse?

I'm lost, you can repin an early wiring harness to work with late electronics with the only real change being the lockup solenoid, quarterhorse allows programming changes to the stock pcm you have to have an automatic pcm already.
