What is necessary to make it 9 sec legal and when you are at the track going for your license, what is the process? I've seen it done before, but never totally paid attention. I have been looking at this quick reference guide but some of it doesn't make sense. http://www.nhra.com/tech_specs/ETQuickRef.html

You need to get the forms first, then you will need a doctors physical, Eye exam, BUT, wait till the last minute to get that part done, cause when you send in the forms, the expiration on your license will be the date of your physical. Your chassis also has to be certified to go 9s also.

When you get all that done, you go to the track and in tech tell them you want to make your license runs, they will take your paperwork and tell you what to do, first you will need to make 2 moderate 1/8th mile passes, then 2 3/4 track passes(all these runs must not be in the 9s and they must go progressivley faster, so you need to pay attention where you lift on each run, cause if you go slower than the run before, you lose a run and have to redo it until they all go in sussesion<sp>. then your last 2 passes need to be in the 9s. then you take the paper work and get 2 licensed drivers to sign you off(they are supposed to watch you run, but most dont), then you take the paperwork to the tower and the track manager signs you off, then follow the directions on the forms and mail them and a check to the NHRA division 1 address, 2 weeks later you are NHRA leqal to run in the 9s.
