aod wont kickdown

i got a 92 mustang lx stock with a aod tranny and 3.73 gears and it wont kick all the way down to first when i punch it at roll of 30 mph and it wont redline it shifts at about 3500 at WOT? any help

Did something change recently?

WIth gear swaps, the AOD is a turd without vb modification or governor swap.

A shift kit or custom VB is the place to start in your situation....the governor is a great addition, but not required.

i was looking for shift kits and was wondering if i can get the 40 dollar one from transgo and itll work or do i have to buy the 160 dollar reprogramming kit from transgo

best bet is to invest in a silverfox valvebody... in laid off right now, BUT if there is ANY way i can swing it (selling the kidney on black market is an option)i WILL have one myself! his stuff aint no B.S.!
