Well I got a new turbo on the car and threw it on the dyno to make sure the tune was solid before I hit the track. I was very surprised when it made 921/753 to the tire with the conservative tune in it. I sure hope this AOD is up to the abuse!

Great job Mike! How much did you make last year?

Thanks Steve.
Last time when it was on the dyno the car made 707 / 613 I believe.

Thanks. I was surprised it made that kind of power. But not unhappy about it at all. HAHAHA I will do my best to get it to the ground.

was this using the S400 88mm?
Awesome power using the AOD.

Yes, It is a S400 with a HP 88mm wheel inside a race cover.

The usual stuff. 4R70W gear set, stamped steel drum, sun gear, extra friction plates, 300M input shaft, Lentech Strip Terminator valve body and so on. The usual upgrades besides the tail shaft oil mod.

With this kind of power, the 300M hard drum will be a must have upgrade....but with that VB running ASSO, might not.

Yeah, I might have to pick this (http://www.clickclickracing.com/forums/showthread.php?10184-Lentech-Strip-Terminator-input-shaft-drum-600-shipped) up.

VERY nice Mike!
That's gotta be close to an AOD record.
I'll be honest though, my new 427 and custom 88mm BW S500/510 is coming for you :)
Plan on going to the track anytime soon?
If you're going to go to NMRA Joliet, I'd love to see the car, I think I'll be dragging my brother's car down to run True Street, my car won't be ready by then.

Thanks J.
I am sure there are not a lot of guys trying to put a lot of power through an AOD. But I would bet there are guys out there pushing well more than that.
S500 series? Damn! Those are big turbos. Were you having back pressure issues with the old set up? Or were there other reasons for the change? And why only a 88mm? Why not a 91 or 94mm? It will be a monster I am sure!
I hope to get to the track in a week or so. I can't wait to see if I can make it work with the new power.
I will be at NMRA Joliet. Hopefully to run True Street. And I pry the weather is nice and not 100 degrees and humid like normal. haha

Yeah, I heard this turbo will be a big boy, almost 13# heavier than the GT4788 was.
I didn't log BP yet, but I'm working with Reed at Work Turbo (formerly Supernatural) and he and every turbo guy I trust all told me that GT4788 compressor would make the power I want but the turbine is way to small for a 427 at 20psi and 7000rpm.
Made more sense to sell mine and upgrade the whole turbo.
This is a preproduction BW, not sure what they'll be calling it when its released in June, but Reed assures me it is the baddest cast 88mm around. I went with an 88mm to stay legal to for some local x275 classes just for fun. Plus, I only want the least boost and rpm required to run consistent 8.50-8.60s. It can be upgraded to up to a 106+ compressor if needed :)
I'll get with you if we are coming to Joliet.
Good luck, let us know on the track testing.

Yeah, I figured the GT4788 would be small on the turbine side. That is why I was wondering if you saw what the back pressure ratio was. The S500 set up will be a lot better for you. I know a few guys have been saying the new 88 wheel is awesome. I can't wait to see the specs and compressor map on it. What will your down pipe and exhaust look like? 5" DP and split into a dual? Or just dumping the DP at the K member? haha
I hear you on the 88mm wheel for the x275 class stuff. Just when I was going to try class racing the two series I would have run shut down operations. So I am still waiting for some thing to start up around here. Not that I think my tank will be competitive. I just want to try it out and see how I like it. Then if it works out I may look to buy a 25.x chassis car. Lots of good deals out there with the economy the way it is. Hopefully at some point a 91mm or bigger turbo will make it on your car. I am sure a big turbo and your motor would make unreal power.
I will post up my track progress for sure. And definitely get a hold of me if you guys come down for the race in Joliet.

DP is 5" that necks down to 4" after a bit and at where a normal collect would be changes to 4" oval under the car dumps at axle.

ok cool. I thought you had 4" on the car. I couldn't remember if you had any length of 5" on the down pipe or not. Or if plans were to change that with the new turbo.
Oval exhaust is cool. But the bends are so damn pricey. Can't wait to see the new set up.
