View Full Version : has anyone wired there optishift to the nss of a foxbody?

what i am looking to do is to chop my old nss and connect the wire from the optishift to it. does anyone know if its possible?
i looked for a nss pinout but could not find one.
there are 4 white wires on the optishift you have to run to other parts in the car. it does say where to run them on the wires. but if there is a way to attach all the wires to the nss plug then i wouldn't have to take them all over the car. and would make the install much cleaner.
the 4 wires are
12v in run
ign start
backup lamp
start relay

so what i can tell from the pictures(sorry for the poor quality)
it should go something like this.
rev lamp----blk/pink
12v in run---pink/org. i will have to make sure it is infact 12v in run.
starter relay coil--- red/light blue
still unsure about the ign start wire, i think it is the white/pink wire

Explain more what you are trying to accomplish...you need to wire the NSS wiring to the 4R MLPS for proper operation.

basiclly what i am asking is.
1. is there a way to wire the optishift to a foxbodies system(nss harness on car)?
2. do i have it correct?
there are no instructions that say cut your old harness and wire these wires to you old harness, so thats why i ask if this is how you do it.
it just shows what i have posted above.

Gotcha...if the Optishift knows if you are in P R N, then why don;t they have an output for you to use and hook to your NS...great idea.
Unfortunately there is a set of contact that must make connection in the MLPS to complete the circuit.


I think how I have it is both REV light and IGN start both go into pin 9, and rev lights come out of 11, start relay out of 12.

so for anyone wondering. you can just cut your old nns and wire it to the optishift. wiring goes like this.
white/pink to ign start
red/blue to start relay
pink/orange to 12v in run
black/pink to back up lamps
i actually found this http://www.becontrols.com/products/tcsfullharness.htm , and ofcourse i only found it after i spent a bunch of time figuring it out. oh well.
