It's been a lond time since I've logged on, but I wanted to give an update of the results of the AOD swap in my ride:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1Wc0dL-dPM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1Wc0dL-dPM)

I apologize for the motion sickness, my dad was learning the cam.

The dyno vid was on a loaded Mustang dyno at about 15psi.
Unfortunately the battery died by the time we got to tuning at 19psi, but I can tell you it sounds much more pissed off at 19psi http://www.hardcore50.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/devil2[1].gif

Car has line lock, 2-step, AMS 2-stage boost controller but unfortunately none of those were working that day as the auto swap was finished the day before. The vid is from a track rental in August only off the wastegate spring at 13.5ish PSI. Hell, I had helped finish installing the rear gear at 4am and had to load the car at 7am, so quite a few things weren't perfect---not to mention the 92* heat.
Those were my first burnouts and track passes ever in an auto, huge difference compared to the stick, felt like a fish out of water big time.

The car's anti-roll bar was binding and someone had changed one side coilover setting so the car was not set-up correctly. It has since been back to Team Z but unfortunately the flexplate/starter ate each other the day we picked it up at Team Z for the 2nd outing, starting the tear-down in the other thread.
Launches were off the transbrake at 2-3psi basically just to load the suspension, it now builds boost MUCH better on the TB with the 2-step.
60' were high 1.5s, best pass was 9.60 @ 148 with 1.58 60'
It went 1.51 60' with the stick (9.84 @149 at 15psi best).
Neither combination had been maximized due to limited testing time, I hope to change that later this year.

Plan is to have some 20psi dyno vids later this spring and consistent mid-8s later this summer, you'll get vids of that too http://www.hardcore50.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/burnout[1].gif

Thanks Mike, I saw your recent big dyno numbers and have been meaning to comment.
The new updated 427 was supposed to be on the engine dyno for NA break-in this Sat. but we had a few unforseen problems with the new rods and now dyno will be delayed until June 3-4.
New BW 88mm turbo is ready and waiting, I feel bad for this AOD :-D

What did you change with the new motor set up? 800hp n/a then some boost on top of that? haha My motor needs some major updating. It was built to make 500rwhp. Long way from that now. hahaha

Yeah, The AOD is going to hate you. LOL

The flexplate and starter had a disagreement so I decided to look into the motor since the trans was out.
Found 2 small cracks in 2 intake valve springs and a some signs of starting to have thrust issues (and flexplate bolt marks on front of converter).
Plus, like your motor, mine was built to be more mild and now needed some things to be reliable for the current plans.

Upgrades are neutral balance, Ed Curtis 240+cc CNC TFS HPs with 8mm LSX valvetrain, new billet HR cam (still mild), 1.7 Probe shaft rockers, and Glidden Super Victor (Dominator flange) intake converted to EFI.

Old motor made 520/520 NA with a small carb on engine dyno break-in at 56-5800rpm, I expect this new motor will be a full 600hp and pull clean to 7000rpm now. The extra 1000rpm window will be nice as between the turbo and long-runner intake, the last combo was choking by 5800 max.

Also doing E85 and having the car fitted with 315/60/15 DRs so I can run 275/60s, 325/50s or the big 315s.

You're right, the AOD may not be happy :)

WOW That is awesome. Some pretty hardcore stuff going on it for sure. I feel inadequate with my 185cc, small hydraulic roller, 331 cube motor. hahaha

The car has a nice mini tub in it. What changed do you need to make the big 315s fit over the other tires?

Sounds awesome. Can't wait to hear how it all works out.
